Believe, Buffalo! Believe!

The Sabres haven’t won in about a week, causing them to be down in the series 3-1. Although it may seem like a tough obstacle to overcome, it can happen and one win is all we need right now. Don’t look at it as we have to win three in a row. Look at it as if we have to win one game….three times.

It’s a challenge to win three in a row, but Boston just did it, so why can’t we? I feel we outplayed Boston last game, which is what hurts the most. The series could have been tied at two instead. Let’s pretend the Sabres won game four, but then lost tonight. It seems like a much more winnable situation.

All I ask for is that the Sabres win tonight. I feel that if we can win and head back to Boston, the team will get hungry to force game seven. Once there’s a game seven, it’s whoever wants it more that’s going to win.

I was laughing yesterday when I saw that Philadelphia defeated New Jersey in five games. The Devils have now been bounced out in the first round in each of the past three seasons. Then I looked at our situation….that same thing could happen to Buffalo tonight.

Not only did the Devils lose that game, they got shutout by Brian Boucher. Did the Devils even try? They signed Ilya Kovalchuk and still went nowhere. They should have let us win the final game of the season. That would’ve allowed us to play Philadelphia and the Devils could have played Boston.

I don’t want to see the Sabres do what New Jersey did last night and how poorly they performed. A win tonight can put the pressure on Boston and give the Sabres momentum. The fans need to support the Sabres tonight in the arena as well.

All Buffalo has to do is take this one game at a time. Win tonight and we’re right back in the series. Believe, Buffalo. Believe.

What do you think? Can the Sabres do it? Comment below with your thoughts.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
