Weber Signs Qualifying Offer

Mike Weber has agreed to his qualifying offer and has signed a one year deal with the Buffalo Sabres. Weber finished with 21 points this past season in Portland and led the team with a plus/minus of +18.

He has played 23 games with the Sabres, earning three assists and a +9. Weber was the Sabres third round selection back in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

Kennedy and Kaleta File Heading to Arbitration

Tim Kennedy filed for arbitration, meaning that if the Sabres do not agree on a contract they will have an arbitration hearing. The NHL will then decide what Kennedy should be paid, and the Sabres can either match that or let him walk to free agency.

The Sabres have filed arbitration with Patrick Kaleta. The team feels that Kaleta is asking for too much. We should hear more within the next week or two.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
