Sabres Sign Shaone Morrisonn

The Buffalo Sabres have signed defenseman Shaone Morrisonn to a two year deal. He will make $2,075,000 in each of the next two seasons. Morrisonn has played for the Washington Capitals for the last five seasons.

In 68 games played this past year, Morrisonn collected one goal and 11 assists. He made just under two million last season with the Capitals

Although he may not produce many points, Morrisonn has begun to prove himself as a tough, stay-at-home defenseman. During the 2008 NHL playoffs, Morrisonn played every game with a broken jaw and a separated shoulder as the team’s number one defenseman.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
