Jeanneret Returns for 39th Year

81 games to be in HD; Rick Jeanneret’s son will call two games

The Buffalo Sabres announced that 81 of the 82 regular season games will be televised in HD. The one game that will not be is the December 21st game against Anaheim because it falls during an exlcusive Versus broadcast window.

Rick Jeanneret and Harry Neale will return to the broadcast booth this year, but Jeanneret is planning on taking two vacations this year. Sabres fans will hear some different voices with Rick sitting out a few games. This will be Jeanneret’s 39th year with the Sabres.

Mark Jeanneret, Rick’s son, will fill in and call two games this season. Mark will call the action on December 27th and 28th against Calgary and Edmonton.

Kevin Sylvester will also be calling some games this season. He will call games on January 1st, 4th, 6th, and 8th. During those four games, Rob Ray will move up to the booth to join Sylvester and Neale.

Dan Dunleavy, sportscaster for the FAN 590 in Toronto, will call one game for the Sabres this season. He will be calling the action during the January 25th game against Ottawa.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
