Final: Blackhawks 4, Sabres 3

After outshooting Chicago 7-0, Patrick Sharp took advantage of a failed keep in attempt by Tyler Myers to score the first goal of the game.

27 seconds later, Drew Stafford put a rebound in past Marty Turco to tie the game. Just seconds later, Paul Gaustad passed it in front of the net, and got credit for the goal after it bounced in off of the defenseman’s skate, giving the Sabres a 2-1 lead.

Early in the second, Marian Hossa accepted a breakaway pass from Brent Seabrook and beat Patrick Lalime to tie the game at two.

Cody McCormick scored his first goal as a Sabre late in the second period, giving Buffalo a 3-2 lead over Chicago.

Dave Bolland stepped right by Craig Rivet to tie the game halfway through the third period. On the power play, Patrick Sharp scored his second of the game, allowing the Blackhawks to go up by one with seven minutes remaining.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
