Sabres Ink Enroth

The Sabres announced today that they have signed goaltender Jhonas Enroth to a multi-year deal. Exact terms of the contract have not been released.

Enroth won nine of 14 games played this past season, and played a big part in securing a playoff spot for Buffalo.

Now, the Sabres have a competent backup for the first time in a while and should use him wisely.

Marc-Andre Gragnani is the only other restricted free agent to be signed.

Although the terms of Enroth’s contract have not yet been announced, the Sabres are going to be over the salary cap.

Darcy Regier and Terry Pegula will have to make some trades to clear cap space.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
