Sabres Win on Historic Night

Ryan Miller made it very clear yesterday that he wanted to get a win, and win he did. It sure wasn’t pretty, but when Jason Pominville’s one-timer struck the inside of Thomas Vanek’s right skate on its way into the net with only 25 seconds remaining in overtime, Miller became the proud owner of win #5 on the season, his first since October 27th.

The night didn’t start off so smoothly for Buffalo as Winnipeg potted two quick goals on their first three shots early in the first period. Tallies from Mark Flood and Brian Little had the Sabres trailing by two goals early on. The fans let Miller know their displeasure with a mock cheer as Ryan stopped Winnipeg’s fourth shot on net, though only a few minutes later Buffalo would give the fans something legitimate to cheer for.
