Mikhail Grigorenko Sent Back to QMJHL

This news was just announced, and has already sent some shockwaves throughout Buffalo.

Mikhail Grigorenko was the victim of a roster crunch, one that will end up with Ville Leino making his season debut tomorrow afternoon.

Grigorenko recorded 5 points (1 goal, 4 assists) in 22 games this season.

The Sabres options were to send down Brian Flynn or Marcus Foligno to Rochester, waive a player, make a trade, or send Grigorenko back to the QMJHL.

This announcement comes a little over an hour after the Buffalo News’ John Vogl reported on the situation.

So as previously mentioned, this move comes as a surprise to many.

The Sabres have announced that General Manager Darcy Regier will be available to the media at 4 PM, so we will have quotes from Darcy around then.

Keep it locked here at Sabres Hockey Central for the latest on this developing story.
