The Buffalo Sabres have officially announced a postponement of tonight’s game, NHL Game #647, due to deteriorating weather conditions throughout the Western New York area.

This is the first time since December 6, 2000 that a Buffalo Sabres home game has been postponed.

For those of you who do not reside in the Buffalo-area, here is a run down of what has been happening in the last 48 hours.

As of 3 PM today. there was almost 8 inches of snow in Buffalo. Orchard Park had 15 inches at the same time. Anyone who knows anything about a Western New York winter knows that those snow totals are a walk in the park for locals.

The large issue is the up-to 60 MPH wind gusts, causing severe whiteouts and blizzards throughout the Buffalo area.

At the time of this article, there has been no official announcement regarding the rescheduled game.

The Sabres have said to keep your tickets for the time being. More details will be announced when a makeup date is finalized.

As soon as we get more information, it will be passed along to you.
