Week in Review #16

wir16

The 16th week of the NHL season was a weird one for the Buffalo Sabres.

Buffalo would see themselves score 9 goals in 3 games, which is well above their season average. In those three games, the Sabres only tallied 2 of a possible 6 points. The Sabres played some of their best hockey in these three games, but just could not get the job done.

Tyler Ennis and Cody Hodgson were named SHC’s Top Performers of the Week, but the honorable mention surely goes to defenseman Tyler Myers. Throughout the past few games, Myers has shown great improvements on the ice. That all came to a head, when Myers scored two goals against the Columbus Blue Jackets. If the Sabres want to turn things around, Myers’ improvement needs to continue.

Heading into Week 17, the Buffalo Sabres have a 13-27-7 record with 33 points. This currently has Buffalo in 8th place in the Atlantic Division, and 16th in the Eastern Conference. The Sabres also have a second-to-worst -47 goal differential.
