The Buffalo Sabres host the Carolina Hurricanes at the First Niagara Center this evening.

Buffalo heads into tonight’s matchup, looking to snap a four-game winless streak (0-2-2). There will be a little different looking lineup for the Sabres tonight as Zenon Konopka and Alex Sulzer will get back in the lineup, following their respective healthy scratches last game. Also, recent callup Phil Varone is expected to make his NHL debut.

Drew Stafford will look to continue his streaky play, as he has three goals and one assist in his last two games. Tyler Ennis also boasts a five-game points streak, where he has two goals and four assists.

Carolina, coming off a 3-2 victory last night in Philadelphia, is 7-3-0 in their last ten games. Alexander Semin has been hot as of late for the Hurricanes, with four goals in his last three games. Leading scorer Eric Staal has also been streaking as of late, with 1 goal and 4 assists in his last three games.

This is the first of three games this season between the Buffalo Sabres and the Carolina Hurricanes. The first game on January 7 was postponed due to weather.

Puck drops shortly after 7 PM, and the game will be broadcast on MSG.
