Week in Review #17

wir17

The Buffalo Sabres entered Week 17 on a losing streak, and unfortunately things did not change much.

While the Sabres finally began to score goals in bunches, they still struggled to score more goals than their opponent.

Buffalo opened the week against the Florida Panthers, put up a good fight, but lost 4-3. Buffalo then played the Carolina Hurricanes. As much as things changed, they stayed the same, as Buffalo would lose 5-3.

A glimmering sparkle of hope came from the Sabres on Saturday night, in Columbus. The Sabres took on a Blue Jackets team that had been boasting an 8-game winning streak. While Buffalo was outplayed, they would not be outscored. The Sabres made the most of their opportunities and beat Columbus, 5-2.

The Sabres end the 17th week with a 14-29-7 record and 35 points. Buffalo still sits in 30th place in the league, but they are one point behind Edmonton for 29th.
