The Buffalo Sabres entered the month of March, looking at their last full month of games this season. Unfortunately for Buffalo, things would not turn out the way they had hoped.

March was a month chock full of injuries for this Sabres squad. The most important injuries occurred in goal. Buffalo began the month with Jhonas Enroth and Jaroslav Halak. The last goaltender that played? Matt Hackett, who was backed up by Nathan Lieuwen. The Sabres have had 5 different goaltenders on the roster this month.

Buffalo scored 20 goals in 14 games, while allowing 46 goals. Their -80 goal differential remains the worst in the league.

The Sabres entered the month of March with an 18-34-8 record with 44 points. After playing 14 games, Buffalo exits the month with 5 of a potential 28 points. Buffalo’s record improved to 20-45-9. Ending the month with 45 losses is important because it set franchise records for most regulation losses in an 82-game season, and most regulation losses in franchise history.
