preseason1

For the first time since early April, the Sabres will hit the ice for a game this evening. In the first of six preseason games, Buffalo will open up against the Wild tonight in Minnesota.

Chad Johnson is scheduled to make the start in goal. It will be his first in-game appearance in a Sabres’ uniform. Nathan Lieuwen is expected to split time with him in goal tonight. Darcy Kuemper and Nicklas Backstrom will be between the pipes for the Wild.

Although the game is not planned to be aired or streamed, fans can listen on WGR 550 as Jack Eichel will play in his first game.

Tonight’s game is scheduled for 8 p.m. Stay tuned to our Facebook page for updates.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
