Grant levels Vesey

Over this past summer, the Sabres traded a 3rd round draft pick for the rights to Jimmy Vesey. It was a risky move that didn’t pan out as the rookie wouldn’t sign a contract with Buffalo.

Instead, he took a deal with the New York Rangers. While Vesey never did any harm, Sabres fans were hopeful they could add the forward to the roster.

Vesey has received boos every time he’s touched the puck at the KeyBank Center. On Tuesday night, Derek Grant finished a big check on Vesey in front of his home fans at Madison Square Garden.

It was a clean hit that caught Vesey with his head down.

Vesey has eight goals and 11 assists on the year. In two games against Buffalo, he has one assist.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
