Grant claimed by Nashville

The Nashville Predators have claimed Derek Grant off of waivers.

This was a move to try to send him down to the Rochester Americans. However, Grant needed to clear waivers for that to happen, and it didn’t.

The forward has struggled offensively this year, scoring just three points in 35 games. Grant has played 75 career games and has yet to find the back of the net, despite scoring numerous times this past preseason to help make the team.

Grant moves on to his fourth team. After playing for Ottawa, Calgary and Buffalo, Grant will look to get his first NHL goal with the Predators.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
