Shut out by Panthers

It looked nothing more than going through the motions on Saturday night against the Florida Panthers, as the Sabres were handed a 3-0 shutout.

James Reimer stopped 30 shots for the win. Jonathan Huberdeau scored twice and Nick Bjugstad added the other goal.

For Buffalo, Sean Malone made his NHL debut. He played a little over 12 minutes with a shot on goal.

“I’d say the first few shifts were just getting used to the pace and everything. I got used to it as the game went on and started to play a little bit more. I was happy to be out there for sure.” — Sean Malone

The Sabres will close out their season as they visit the Tampa Bay Lightning on Sunday. Puck drop is scheduled for 5 p.m.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
