Sabres trade for Beaulieu

The Buffalo Sabres have traded a 2017 third round pick to Montreal in exchange for left-handed defenseman Nathan Beaulieu.

Beaulieu has played in parts of five seasons with the Canadiens and at 24 years old, is a strong skating defender who could help the Sabres on the 2nd or 3rd pairing.

There is a roster freeze effective today at 3 p.m. EST.
