Benoit Pouliot will have a hearing with NHL’s Player Safety department after an illegal check to the head of Florida’s Keith Yandle during Friday’s game.
Here are a few looks at the hit:
It appears Pouliot kept his arm in, but still may have made contact with Yandle’s head. Either way, Pouliot may be hit with a fine at the least. We’ll update you once Player Safety makes a ruling. Hopefully, Pouliot avoids any suspension.
Update: 12:04 p.m.
We have determined there will be no supplemental discipline for Benoit Pouliot. After a thorough review of all available angles and a hearing today with Pouliot, it was determined that the head was not the main point of contact.
