A couple weeks ago, Zach Bogosian planned on missing four to six weeks because of an injury.

Today, the Sabres announced that the defenseman will undergo hip surgery and miss the remainder of the season.

If there is any good news to take out of it, it’s the fact that the Sabres expect Bogosian to be completely recovered and healthy for the start of the 2018-19 season.

“The news regarding Zach’s injury is unfortunate,” Sabres General Manager Jason Botterill said. “Zach has been dealing with this injury since the beginning of the season. After consulting with our medical team, we felt that it was important to get this taken care of now so that he can be back to full strength and ready to contribute at the beginning of next season.”

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
