Road trip continues in Las Vegas

The Sabres continue their five-game road trip tonight as they faceoff against the Las Vegas Knights. Buffalo is in search of their second straight win after posting a 3-2 record over the first five games.

Season series: Tonight’s matchup will close out the season series between these two teams. The Sabres defeated the Knights for the first time in franchise history just over a week ago.

Buffalo notes: The Sabres are coming off a 3-0 victory over the Arizona Coyotes, but face a much bigger challenge tonight. They did beat Vegas by a 4-2 score already, but it’ll be tough to defeat them again, and while on the road. Buffalo have been a bit inconsistent, but have looked like an improved team so far this season. A win tonight would put them two games over .500 and it’d be a huge start to the road trip.

Vegas notes: The biggest news coming out of Las Vegas is that Paul Stastny is expected to miss about two months with a lower-body injury. It’s a big blow to a team that is off to a 2-4 start. The Knights defeated the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday, 1-0, and are returning home after a five-game road trip.

Starting goaltenders: Coming off an impressive season debut, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Linus Ullmark get the nod in goal. Marc-Andre Fleury has struggled a bit this season, but is still tabbed as the team’s starter.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
