O’Reilly, Canada win World Cup of Hockey

ror

Ryan O’Reilly will open the regular season with a new accomplishment under his belt as Team Canada has won the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.

Centering Joe Thornton and Matt Duchene, O’Reilly played a strong role on the team, despite not registering a point. His work ethic didn’t go unnoticed:

O’Reilly received the opportunity to play after Tyler Seguin went down with an injury. A few weeks later and the 25-year-0ld has played in a tournament he’ll never forget.

While he won’t play in tonight’s preseason contest, we should expect to see O’Reilly at training camp in the next couple of days.

Congrats, Ryan!

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
