Mancari and Gerbe Called Up

Mark Mancari and Nathan Gerbe have been called up from Portland because of some injuries on the Buffalo Sabres roster. Patrick Kaleta is battling an upper body injury and could miss a few games. Tim Connolly blocked a shot this past Friday against Ottawa, which is being called a lower body injury.

Both of these players missed the game Saturday night in Tampa Bay, forcing Andrej Sekera to play forward. Tyler Ennis was already called up, and now he will have Mancari and Gerbe joining him. For Mancari, this is his third recall to the Sabres this season. In four games, he’s scored one goal and one assist along with a plus-3 rating.

This will be Gerbe’s second stint with the Sabres this year. He has two points in two games with a plus- 1 rating. Ryan Miller is expected to get the start against the Bruins tomorrow night.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
