Never, in a million years, would I have predicted the Flyers to be in the Finals. It’s still hard to believe that they are. Now only a couple of questions remain, Who will win and who to root for are the biggest problems for many fans.
After watching what the Flyers have done this postseason, it’s hard to root against them….or isn’t it? Being a Buffalo fan, or even a hockey fan in general, I have despised the Flyers for years. They are a dirty team who doesn’t seem to have much talent, but hey, they are in the finals.
Philadelphia shocked Boston with a delayed sweep and easily knocked off New Jersey and Montreal. Can they handle the Blackhawks? Many would agree that there are plenty of teams better than Philly, but none of that matters.
Daniel Briere was beloved in Buffalo, but it is difficult to root for him now that he is on the Flyers. On the other hand, Chicago has Patrick Kane, a Buffalo native. If Chicago does win the series, the cup would come to Buffalo, which the city has never won. It would be one of the few times the cup is in town.
Brian Campbell, another former Sabre, has the chance to have his name engraved on Lord Stanley. Chicago has so many players that can score, and I don’t believe they will have a problem with Philly.
Who are you rooting for?
