Buffalo Sabres Center/Left Winger Tim Kennedy has been awarded an arbitration settlement of $1 Million for a 1-year contract. According to the Sabres’ website they were not eligible to walk away from a contract below $1,611,180 so Kennedy and the Sabres are bound to a one year deal.
Darcy Regier spoke on the award saying “for us it was a little higher than we expected.” He also told reporters that he did not in fact only offer the minimum qualifying offer but worked from what they thought he would receive in arbitration.
In his Rookie year the 5’10” 173 lb. forward recorded 10 goals and 16 assists while playing a mostly defensive role. Regier says he will look for Kennedy to improve moving forward and expects him to compete hard to maintain his spot during training camp.
