Sabres Sign McCauley

The Buffalo Sabres have agreed to a 1-year contract with free agent forward Dennis McCauley. The 6’3″ 225 lb. right winger is a depth signing for Portland. The 25 year old just finished his first pro season with the Worcester Sharks putting up 10 goals, 14 point and 10 fights. McCauley had a spirited scrap last year with Portland’s Hans Benson. He went undrafted after a 4-year career at Northeastern University.

Regier Continues to sign players for Portland now that arbitration is over. If Regier is indeed done with Buffalo’s roster then he can get started on finalizing Portland’s roster with veterans and current Sabres’ RFAs. It would seem that he now needs a skilled veteran player after signing two tough guys in Tim Conboy and Dennis McCauley. It has been rumored in the Portland media that the Sabres will bring back former Sabre Nolan Pratt to play with Portland.
