Sabres Sign Gragnani

The Buffalo Sabres announced today that they have re-signed restricted free agent defenseman Marc-Andre Gragnanito a one-year contract.

Gragnani spent the 2009-10 season with Buffalo’s AHL affiliate in Portland, scoring 43 points in 66 games. His 12 goals were third among AHL blueliners, and he was 11th in defense scoring. In addition, six of Gragnani’s 12 goals were scored on the power play. In three AHL seasons with Portland/Rochester, the 23-year-old has 146 points in 220 games. He has also played in six NHL games with the Sabres during this time.

Gragnani was drafted by Buffalo in the third round (87th overall) of the 2005 Entry Draft.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
