The Buffalo Sabres have resigned their last restricted free agent who isn’t going to be playing in Europe next season. The Sabres have agreed on a 1-year deal with right winger Mark Mancari. It will be a two-way deal paying him $150,000 in the AHL or $575,000 in the NHL next season. Marcari is expected to start the season in Portland.
Mancari played in six games for Buffalo this past season, posting one goal and two points with a +3 rating. He also scored 29 goals and 67 points in 73 games with the Portland Pirates. Mancari has played in 16 games with Buffalo but has struggled to stick with the big club despite great numbers at the AHL level. Mancari was a holdout from camp last season, demanding a trade. This year a deal was finalized well ahead of time.
