Sabres Defeat Leafs 3-1

Andrej Sekera started the scoring with a shot off the crossbar that went in. Tyler Ennis scored Buffalo’s second goal on a 2 on 1. The Sabres third goal came from Rob Niedermayer. Towards the end of the second period, Toronto broke the shutout after Nikolai Kulemin scored.

Ryan Miller played the first 30 minutes of the game, making all nine saves. Jhonas Enroth made 15 of 16 saves. The Sabres put 44 shots on net while Toronto had 25.

Craig Rivet did not play after suffering a throat contusion. He is expected to be out at least two days before he can begin training again.

Buffalo’s next game will be on Monday when they head to Toronto to face the Maple Leafs again.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
