Flames Light Up Sabres, 5-2

Iginla’s goal was his first against Buffalo since 2002.

Hecht has been having a horrible season so far and is on pace for a career low of seven goals.

After a promising first period, things turned around for the Sabres. Calgary came out and tallied the next four goals of the game. Buffalo crumpled quickly after the opening period and the 14th placed Flames took complete control.

Miller finished the night with 28 saves on 33 shots. The last Calgary goal came as time expired as the Flames notched their 5th goal while enjoying a two man advantage.

Miikka Kiprusoff stopped 25 of 27 shots on the night and earned the win for the Flames.

To make things worse, the Sabres will take on Edmoton on Tuesday night. It’s another back-to-back game, which the Sabres are horrible at.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
