Sabres/Senators Preview

Buffalo looks to move closer to the final spot in the Eastern Conference against Ottawa tonight. The Sabres have defeated the Senators three out of four times this season (all in Ottawa).

Carolina is hosting Pittsburgh tonight, so Buffalo will have to root for the Penguins as well as the Sabres.

“Buffalo came up big in a crucial match against Atlanta on Wednesday night as both clubs are chasing the eighth and final playoff spot in the East. Not only did Buffalo come away with the two points in the 4-1 win, but they did it with a flourish to make their new owner proud.

Ryan Miller made 40 saves and Tyler Myers had a goal and an assist to pace the Sabres to the important victory. Pegula received a minute-long standing ovation from the enthusiastic home crowd the start of the game.”

“I had a great time,” Pegula said.

“You definitely get energy from having him around,” Miller said of the new owner. “It’s nice to see him happy with the effort.”

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
