Sabres Acquire Brad Boyes

The Sabres have made their first trade under Terry Pegula. Brad Boyes has been traded from St. Louis to Buffalo for a 2011 2nd-round pick.

In 61 games this season, Boyes has 41 points (12 G, 29 A). Boyes has played in at least 80 games in each of the last five seasons prior to this one. He has accumulated 60 or more points twice and hit 72 a couple years ago.

Boyes was drafted by the Maple Leafs in the first round (24th overall) of the 2000 Nhl Entry Draft. However, he never played a game for Toronto. He played one game with the Sharks, spent two seasons with Boston, followed by almost five full seasons with the Blues.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
