Sabres/Wild Preview

This is the only meeting between these teams this season. Minnesota won 3-2 the last time they met. Buffalo is coming off of a 5-3 victory over Philadelphia on Saturday and are now just one point out of eighth place.

Jhonas Enroth is expected to get the start in net for Buffalo. A win would propel the Sabres into a playoff spot. The Sabres still have two games in hand on Carolina, and this is one of them. The other one will be on Tuesday, so Buffalo needs to get points out of these games.

“Every game is big for us. Philly has lost the last few games, so we expected them to come out hard which they did, but we came through.” — Sabres forward Thomas Vanek after Saturday’s 5-3 win at Philadelphia.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
