Sabres/Leafs Preview

This is the 5th of six meetings between the teams this season. The Sabres have taken three out of the first four, outscoring Toronto 13-7. With Thursday’s overtime win in Boston, Buffalo are now in seventh place in the Eastern Conference.

Carolina lost to Washington on Friday, allowing the Sabres to have a game in hand on the Hurricanes. Since January 1st, the Sabres are 18-8-4 and are looking to continue their hot streak as they face Toronto and Ottawa in the next two nights.

“Despite his career season with the Leafs, former Sabre Clarke MacArthur hasn’t enjoyed the Buffalo-Toronto rivalry in recent years. After starting his Sabres career with 4 points in his first four games against the Leafs, he went on to register just 2 assists in his next 14 games against Toronto. In four games on the other side of the rivalry this season, MacArthur has just one assist against Buffalo.”

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
