Sabres/Capitals Preview

The Sabres are looking for another two points as they visit the Capitals tonight. Buffalo are three points ahead of ninth place Carolina, and are looking to move into 6th with a win tonight.

Ryan Miller suffered a minor injury a few days ago and has a deep bruise on his neck and chest. The good news is that he will not miss too much time.

“If Miller is unable to play, Enroth could be charged with helping the Sabres into the playoffs. Enroth was a second-round pick in 2006 and has been considered a top prospect at different points of his career.

He’s made only 10 NHL starts, including the 1-0 win against the Rangers. He’s 6-2-1 this season with a 2.45 goals against average and .915 save percentage — but only four of those appearances have come since Nov. 24.

“Jhonas played unbelievable last game for us, but you do notice when [Miller] is out of the lineup,” defenseman Tyler Myers said. “He’s proved to be one of the best goaltenders in the world, and he’s a key part of our group.”

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
