Jeanneret to Call Fewer Games Next Season

It has been reported that Rick Jeanneret and Harry Neale will call all home games and 10-15 road games during the 2011-2012 regular season.

Jeanneret said he thought he was going to retire at the end of this past season, but saw the reduced schedule as a way for him to stay longer. His passion and love for the game hasn’t stopped, but at the age of 70, his time as the Sabres’ broadcaster is coming to an end.

A full decision on what games he will cover will be determined once the schedule is released, and he will call any games the Sabres play during the postseason. Rob Ray will be joining Jeanneret and Neale in the broadcast booth this upcoming season.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
