Sabres/Kings Preview

Celebrating his awesomeness.

The Sabres look to go to 2-0 against the Los Angeles Kings, in Berlin, Germany, this afternoon.

The Sabres are coming off a dominant 4-1 victory over the Anaheim Ducks just one day ago. A victory which saw an excellent game from forward Thomas Vanek (2 goals, 1 assist), forward Jason Pominville (1 goal, 2 assists) and forward Luke Adam (2 assists).

The Sabres are looking to start off the season fast after suffering through a horrible October, just a season ago. This game against the Kings is also the Sabres’ first set of back-to-back games that they will play this year. Just like last season, the Sabres lead the NHL in back-to-back games played.

The Kings are coming off of a 3-2 overtime victory against the New Y0rk Rangers in Berlin. Jack Johnson was the man of the hour in the Kings’ first game as he scored the game-winning goal 4:08 into overtime.

The Kings will be taking on the Sabres for the first time with their new offseason acquisitions, forwards Mike Richards and Simon Gagne. The Kings will also be looking to start a season 2-0 for the first time since the 1999-2000 season.

Today’s game is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. EST
