Sabres Come Up Short in Home Opener

It was an almost perfect home opener for the Buffalo Sabres. A sell out crowd at the First Niagara Centre got almost all their money’s worth as they got to see some great offense, great goaltending and mini brawl midway through the game.

The only disappointing part of the night was the Sabres falling victim to their first defeat of the season which was largely helped by an 0-for-6 powerplay while giving up two short-handed goals.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
