Sabres Aim For Repeat Performance Against Panthers

With crisp memories of a 3-0 shutout a few games back, the Sabres will look to do it again to the Panthers tonight. This time, at the First Niagara Center.

Ryan Miller stopped all 22 shots he faced the last time these two teams met. Since then, he had a tough game, allowing Jhonas Enroth to step in and earn a victory.

Fans have quickly jumped on the Enroth bandwagon, saying that he should be the number one goaltender. Meanwhile, there is a Vezina-winning goalie right in front of them. However, it’s a good problem to have.

Florida has some issues on the back end that are not so good. Jose Theodore is listed as day-to-day, but rookie Jacob Markstrom has gone 2-2 with a 2.11 goals against this season.

This is the final game of the month for Buffalo, and they bring in a 6-3 record to start the season. The Sabres trail Toronto by one point for first place in the Northeast division and the Maple Leafs are hosting the Penguins tonight.

Thursday’s game against Columbus was the first time that Thomas Vanek earned three assists in one game. Vanek leads the Sabres in scoring with 14 points (7 G, 7 A).

Tonight’s game starts at 7:00pm EST and will air on MSG.

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
