Debate: Miller or Enroth?

Last night’s loss to Florida severely disappointed me, and probably, many others as well.

I’m sick of hearing how Enroth has become the better goaltender, and the stats continue to favor those who don’t know what they’re talking about. This topic has been beaten to the ground and will continue to be.

Ryan Miller is a huge part of this team, and he has been for a while. He’s won the Vezina trophy, and he carried Team USA to a silver medal in the Olympics. Now, from what we have seen from Enroth, it seems more and more people want him to be the number one goaltender.

I’ll admit, I’m a big fan of Enroth and I believe he has a ton of potential. I can’t wait to see what he can do as a starter, whether it’s for the Sabres or another team. But I do not think he is a better goaltender than Miller.

Enroth has built himself a nice fan base since helping the Sabres late last season. This year, he is off to a great start as well. He’s calm, he can make big saves and can win games.

That’s all great, but Miller is still the #1 goaltender. We all know Miller has bad games, but have we seen one from Enroth? Up to this point, he’s been pretty solid, going 11-3-0-2 in his career. What will happen when he does have a bad game? Or how about three or four bad games in a row?

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
