Yesterday the Buffalo Sabres announced that they have signed defensemen Joe Finley to a multi-year contract.
The 2005 Washington Capital draftee was assigned to Rochester after making the cut with the team by way of a tryout invitation. The 6’8” 260 pound defensemen played collegiately for the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux from 2005-2009. Currently, Finley has participated in 18 games for the Amerks and has 1 goal and 2 points on season, while leading the team in plus/minus at +10. He also has leads the team with 57 penalty minutes. In 26 career AHL games, Finley has 1 goal, 2 assists and 79 total penalty minutes.
It is reported to be a two-way contract for 3 years and $1.575 million.
