Another Day, Another Injury

The Buffalo Sabres took to the ice this afternoon for a practice before they take on the Ottawa Senators tomorrow night in Ottawa.

The news out of practice was not good at all.

The Sabres continue to suffer the wrath of the injury bug. It has gotten so bad that Buffalo only had three healthy lines practicing this afternoon. They were as follows.

Adam-Szczechura-Pominville
McCormick-Roy-Stafford
Ellis-Gaustad-Kassian

According to Mike Harrington, Marc-Andre Gragnani was skating with the forwards and the other six defensemen were on the ice for Buffalo.

Forward Thomas Vanek missed today’s practice with an undisclosed injury and his official status for tomorrow is probable.

According to Bill Hoppe, Tyler Ennis attempted to practice this morning on a sprained ankle but could not go. He also stated that Brad Boyes could possibly be ready to play Thursday and Pat Kaleta could be “good by the end of the week.”

It is speculated that the Sabres will be calling up two forwards from Rochester for tomorrow night’s game. One would think that it is time for Derek Whitmore and Marcus Foligno to make their NHL debuts.

Here is an updated look at the Sabres current injury situation.
