Two Sabres to Return Tonight

This morning’s skate for the Buffalo Sabres was a successful one. The injury bug has been biting the Sabres badly in the past few weeks but it seems like the team is finally recovering. Here are some quick hits from practice.

Thomas Vanek (shoulder) was skating this morning with no issue. He is expected to play tonight.

Jochen Hecht (foot) and Brad Boyes (ankle) skated this morning with no issue. They both will be in the lineup tonight. Hecht will be centering the Vanek/Pominville line and Boyes will play alongside Roy/Stafford.

Tyler Ennis was skating this morning with no issues. He will not return tonight but one has to believe that he is close to a return.

Tyler Myers was skating with the defensemen again this morning. Lindy Ruff says that he is still “a ways away.”

Marc-Andre Gragnani is expected to be a healthy scratch again tonight.

Paul Szczechura is still with the Sabres but will most likely be a healthy scratch.

Derek Whitmore has been sent down to the Rochester Americans.
