Welcome to Last Place

Incase you’re not aware, due to Carolina’s 2-1 victory over Winnipeg last night, the Hurricanes passed the Sabres in the standings, dropping Buffalo to dead last in the Eastern Conference.

On November 17th, the Sabres defeated the Hurricanes by a 1-0 score. After that win, the Sabres improved to 12-7 and were 2nd in the Eastern Conference and just one point behind Philadelphia.

Since then, the Sabres have won just seven of 29 games, earning 19 out of a possible 58 points.

Buffalo (43 points) rank 28th in the league, only ahead of Edmonton (40 points) and Columbus (32 points).

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
