Sabres Look To Stay Hot vs. Stars

The Sabres have a chance to keep their momentum going, but it won’t be easy. Dallas are just two points behind the 8th placed Coyotes.

The teams last met on October 30th, 2010 when Dallas shutout the Sabres by a 4-0 score. Tonight is the only meeting between the teams this season.

The Stars are coming off of a 4-2 win last night against Columbus. However, Dallas are just 0-8-1 in the second of back-to-back games. Not only that, but the Sabres are 4-1 after a night off versus teams playing their 2nd straight game.

Buffalo have put together some pretty impressive games over the last week or two. They lost to the Rangers in a shootout, and shutout the defending champions by a 6-0 score.

Buffalo is 4-0-1 in its last five games, outscoring its opponents 15-6 during that span.

Buffalo is 5-0-5 in its last 10 home games, its longest such streak since January of 2010. The Sabres haven’t lost a home game in regulation since Dec. 10.

The Sabres expect to have Thomas Vanek back in the lineup tonight.

The Sabres are now 10 points out of 8th place, behind Toronto. Currently in 13th, a win tonight would propel the Sabres up to 11th. A loss would have them in a tie for last place with if Carolina wins.

The game will be broadcast live on MSG and the puck will drop at 7:30 p.m.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
