Happy Anniversary

If you don’t know already, today is Pegula Day 2012 in Buffalo Sabres nation. One year ago today, he [Terry Pegula] took over as owner of the team and the Sabres went on a magical run to make the postseason. They will need another similar run, possibly even better, if they want to make the playoffs this year.

Also on this day, 32 years ago, was the “miracle on ice”. One of the greatest days, if not the best, for USA hockey.

There’s more.

Not only that, but five years ago from this day, was the infamous Sabres/Senators brawl game in which Martin Biron fought Ray Emery.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
