Sabres Take Win Streak to MSG

After three consecutive wins and seven out of the last eight points, the Sabres have brought themselves closer to the final playoffs spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Sabres will have another challenge tonight when they visit the Rangers at Madison Square Garden.

New York leads the league in hits while the Sabres are last in the league for that category.

The Rangers have taken the first two game of the season series – one by a 4-1 score and the other a 1-0 victory in a shootout.

The Rangers haven’t lost three straight games since they started the season with a 0-1-2 record.

The Sabres trail the 8th placed Panthers by five points in the standings and could gain ground with a win, along with some help from around the league. Florida do have two games in hand over the Sabres.

The Panthers will be visiting Carolina tonight to take on the Hurricanes.

Toronto and Washington are the two teams above Buffalo in the standings at 65 points and will be facing each other tonight. All Buffalo fans can hope for from that game is that it doesn’t go to overtime.

That 8th spot can change on any day with so many teams crowded around it. Not only that, but the top three teams from the Southeast Division are within two points of each other.

Tonight’s game is scheduled for 7 p.m.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
