Zdeno Chara – Boston Bruins
What can you say about this giant force of Hockey nature that we do not know already. He is big and physical, with the hardest shot ever in the NHL.
He is durable and on the ice as a captain should be. Chara not only racks up ridiculous amounts of ice time, he is out there for the power play, scoring eight of his 12 goals this year with the extra man.
He totaled 52 points in 2011-2012 and was a +33. Chara is physical by default, with 166 hits this season. When he touches someone, they fall.
The thing that surprised me looking into the year that he had, he did not block many shots, with 87. That is a low number for such a large body on the ice as much as he is.
Chara won the Norris back in 2009, and this is his third nomination.
