Jordan Eberle – Edmonton Oilers
I did not get to watch much of Eberle, other then a game in Buffalo in January. I watched a lot of late night hockey highlights, and have read a lot about him as a player.
He appears to be a young star in the making on that team, which over all is about to bust at the seams if they can acquire come defensive depth and goaltending.
Like St.Louis, Eberle put points on the board this year with 76 points in 78 games. This was with both of his line mates Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Tyler Hall missing time with shoulder injuries for major portions of the year.
In his second full season, Eberle improved his point production while lowering his penalty minutes and becoming more disciplined, taking only five minor penalties this entire season.
If he continues at this pace, and stays healthy, I see a long career with many nominations for this award.
