Sabres Agree to Terms With John Scott

Buffalo fans have been waiting all day for the Sabres to make a move, and finally they have. It’s not a big signing in terms of salary, but in terms of size, it is.

The Sabres have agreed to terms with John Scott, a 6’8″, 270 pound enforcer who should help make the team a bit tougher.

“John’s size and toughness make him a difficult player to battle against,” Regier said. “His physical play will be a valuable addition to our team.”

It is a one year contract worth $600,000. Scott has recorded five points (1 G, 4 A) in 146 NHL games. He has played for the Rangers, Wild and Blackhawks.

It was a needed move. There is still plenty of time for that 'blockbuster" to happen. This can open up a cleaner Kaletta and Foligno to just keep on going. It will also curb open season on Miller. I know I would NOT want to lay out Miller if i knew Big John was gonna be on the ice with me ready to pound the living SH1T outta me!

"people have said that he's never lost a fight in 4 years" Obviously nobody from Chicago has been commenting on the situation.

He might not even be able to skate after someone to fight them. He is slower than if you were to try to sprint through wet concrete.

he's gonna suck in point producing but people have said that he's never lost a fight in 4 years so it helps a little bit on toughness but in general it's a waste of money

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
